Another fantastic short story: "Patterns" by Kristiina Ehin. It has the depth of a parable-- there's a refreshing absence of psychology or any attempt to explain the heroine's mysterious propensity for destroying her many husbands.
But enough of what I think-- you should go read this wonderful writer. I will be reading this story again and again.
